DIY Knitted Lamp

Sometime ago I remeber seeing in Vero Mariani Blog, this lamps. I love the color cable! and I start thinking how I can do a similar one... Then I remember that when I was little I used to have a tricotin where I french knitted

The things I used were: cable, a lampholder, a small screwdriver for the lampholder, the tricotin, wool and a small crochet

I always use the tricotin just with wool but this time thinking on the lamp I decided to mix both! and luckily it works perfect!

I pass the cable trough the middle and start knitting like usual, and slowly the cable come trough beatufly knitted :) much stronger because of the wool!

When I wanted to finish, I start closing it (is the same that when you knitt but without passing more wool)

Once closed it, we pass the tricotin trought the cable to take it out.

That is where we started, here you put the lampholder

    1. Haha, was it to hard? it only took me one hour to do all the knitting... when you understand how it is, you do it faster..

    2. I believe the problem was with the quantity - she made like 8 lamps for her workshop and together could be like 20m of these wires (if not more). So - quite a lot of knitting, don't you think so? :)

  2. I love this! I have a tricotin that my grandma gave me when I was little. It is a mushroom shape and I always love it but never knew what to do with the rope when I was done. This is perfect!
